The Power of We II: Answering the Call for Such a Time as This is more than a conference—it is a gathering of purpose-driven leaders, trusted messengers, healers, advocates, and changemakers committed to advancing health equity and strengthening communities across Virginia and beyond.

This year's conference will bring together Community Health Workers, doulas, promotores de salud, home visitors, peer support specialists, outreach professionals, healthcare providers, public health leaders, policymakers, researchers, educators, students, and community organizations to explore innovative solutions, build meaningful partnerships, and strengthen the collective impact of our work.

Through inspiring keynote speakers, interactive workshops, policy discussions, research, storytelling, and opportunities for networking and collaboration, participants will leave equipped with practical tools, renewed purpose, and stronger connections to lead through today's challenges while preparing for tomorrow's opportunities.

Now more than ever, our communities need leaders who are willing to bridge divides, foster trust, advocate for justice, and transform systems of care. Together, we will celebrate the resilience of our workforce, elevate community voices, and answer the call to create healthier, more equitable futures for all.

Because the challenges before us cannot be solved in isolation. They require collaboration, courage, and collective leadership.

 Cultural Wellness Center & Commonsense Childbirth Inc. Doula Training

The Cultural Wellness Center (CWC) is a community-initiated multidimensional organization focused on promoting health, healing, and Cultural Wellness within diverse communities, especially among people of African descent. Founded in 1996, the CWC empowers and engages communities, by assisting them in reversing the problems created by individualism, loss of culture, and loss of community. The CWC work includes connecting to cultural heritage, acknowledging value, and by fostering a sense of community belonging, identity, and acceptance.

We’re excited to be collaborating with The Cultural Wellness Center (CWC) to grow the community based perinatal workforce with doula training. This training is for anyone wanting to support birthing people in their families and communities. We will train community members, fathers, family, and previous doulas in a culturally congruent way of care provision.
